Concluding event of the "Accessible Services for Equal Opportunities" program

On October 29, the closing event of the “Accessible Services for Equal Opportunities”project took place. During the event, the activities implemented within the framework of the project, the results achieved, and prospects for future cooperation were presented.

The closing event brought together representatives of state institutions, local self-government bodies, sectoral professionals, and partner organizations. The discussions highlighted the importance of interagency cooperation, the continuous development of professional capacities, and ensuring the sustainability of the results achieved.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all partners, participants, and involved institutions for their cooperation, trust, and commitment to working together towards a common goal.

The project was implemented by the “House of Hope” Charitable Foundation within the framework of the Women’s Empowerment for Wellbeing (WoW) programme, funded by the German Government and supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

Within the framework of the project:

  • Cooperation was established with 16 target communities in Armenia, 49 territorial centres of the Unified Social Service, 82 primary healthcare facilities, as well as the 12 administrative districts of Yerevan.

  • A total of 200 professionals from the target institutions received training on the rights of persons with disabilities, inclusive communication, and the specific aspects of providing safe and accessible services.

  • Theoretical and practical training sessions were also conducted for the target municipalities on the safe and effective use of the stair-climbing platforms (stair climbers) provided to them.

  • First-aid kits were provided to the target institutions, while training and information materials were distributed to the participants.
