Overview

The Accessible Services for Equal Opportunities program is implemented by the Huso House Charitable Center Foundation. The program started on December 1, 2025, and will end on October 30, 2026. Target groups include approximately 232 employees from 16 municipal administrations in Armenia, 49 territorial centers of Unified Social Services, and 84 health and medical centers/polyclinics.

Objective

The program aims to improve the quality of public services provided to approximately 197,000 persons with disabilities in Armenia by creating a physically accessible environment and ensuring inclusive communication.

Activities

Three interconnected workstreams that together create sustainable change in how public services are delivered.

01

Lift Platform Device Training

In the first phase of the program, staff training is organized for the safe and effective use of lift platform devices provided to 16 municipalities.

02

Communication and Safe Service Training Courses

In the second phase, training courses are provided for employees of target institutions on inclusive communication with persons with mobility, hearing and vision disabilities, provision of appropriate counseling, and first aid topics. Upon completion of the courses, a training module is developed to ensure continuous education in target institutions.

03

First Aid Preparedness Development

Target municipalities and territorial centers of Unified Social Services are provided with first aid kits and practical training is organized on their use and implementation.

04

Public Awareness

Two informational videos with subtitles and sign language interpretation are prepared, presenting the use of provided lift platforms and the rights of persons with disabilities and services provided to them at state and community levels. Awareness campaigns are organized in target communities to promote inclusive attitudes, overcome stigma, and ensure public participation in creating an appropriate environment.
