Another series of "For Equal Opportunities" training courses was held in Lori region

On July 13-14, another series of “For Equal Opportunities” training courses was held in Lori region.

The trainings were attended by social workers from the Unified Social Service Territorial Centers of Lori region, the target community administration (Tashir) and the Lori regional administration, as well as employees and nurses from the reception areas of medical centers.

During the trainings, the participants were introduced to the principles of effective and respectful communication with people with motor, vision and hearing problems, rights-based and inclusive approaches to disability, as well as practical solutions used in various situations encountered during the provision of services.

Special attention was paid to the basics of Armenian sign language. The participants learned the sign equivalents of a number of professional terms used in the fields of healthcare and social services.

Practical training on the basics of first aid was also carried out within the framework of the trainings, during which the participants acquired knowledge on how to provide quick and correct assistance to the victim in emergency situations.

At the end of the training, the target institutions were provided with fully equipped first aid kits and Armenian sign language dictionaries, and the participants were provided with first aid manuals and certificates of participation.

The series of training courses is implemented by the "House of Hope Charity Center" Foundation within the framework of the "Women's Empowerment for Wellbeing" (WoW) program, funded by the German government and supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
